The four myths of Medicare
Myth 1: Medicare covers all of your medical expenses.
FALSE! Original Medicare (Part A & B) is not a free service. Additionally, Original Medicare only covers a portion of your medical costs. You are responsible for premiums, deductibles, co-insurance, and co-payments.
Myth 2: You can apply for Medicare at any time.
FALSE! Once your Initial Enrollment Period ends, you can sign up for Part A & Part B during the General Enrollment Period between January 1 and March 31 each year.
Myth 3: All Medicare plans are created equal.
FALSE! It’s crucial that you decide what the most important features of your health coverage are. Do you have a vacation home or do you like to travel the U.S.? Do you care what providers or facilities you are allowed to utilize? Are you comfortable with a high range of unplanned out of pocket fees?
